Sabato mattina, 28 febbraio, nell’ambito dell’inaugurazione della mostra “Lungo la corrente” in Biblioteca Civica è stato assegnato il “Premio Antonio Megalizzi 2026”, giunto alla sua quinta edizione.
Il premio, istituito già alla seconda edizione del Festival del Giornalismo per ricordare la figura del giornalista Antonio Megalizzi (scomparso tragicamente nel 2018 in seguito a un attentato mentre si trovata a Strasburgo), è stato assegnato dalla Fondazione intitolata allo sfortunato collega al giornalista, ricercatore e reporter Lorenzo Colantoni “per la capacità di coniugare rigore giornalistico, profondità narrativa e visione europea. Attraverso il progetto multimediale Lungo la corrente, Colantoni ha dato forma a un racconto di rara intensità e precisione. Tra fotografia, video e scrittura, Colantoni costruisce un viaggio che dalle Azzorre si spinge fino al profondo Nord Artico, seguendo il respiro della Corrente del Golfo: non solo fenomeno oceanico, ma filo invisibile che intreccia clima, ecosistemi e destino delle coste europee. Ne emerge un’opera corale, pubblicata anche su Internazionale e culminata nel libro Lungo la corrente, capace di rendere comprensibili, tangibili e umanamente vicini gli effetti del cambiamento climatico, illuminando con chiarezza le conseguenze che attendono il nostro pianeta. Per l’altissima qualità del lavoro, l’accuratezza dell’indagine e la forza divulgativa che trasforma la complessità scientifica in coscienza civile, Lorenzo Colantoni incarna lo spirito del premio, nel segno di un giornalismo che attraversa confini, connette storie e accende consapevolezza”.
Colantoni succede ai colleghi giornalisti William Beccaro (2022), Barbara Schiavulli (2023), Laura Silvia Battaglia (2024) e Alice Speri (2025).
